Putting food back in its rightful place

So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
Ah, food… it has the power to give your body strength and add years to your life, or it can zap your body of energy and make you lethargic, obese, and chronically ill. Ann Wigmore puts it this way, “The food you eat can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine, or the slowest form of poison.”
Look around and you will find thousands of fad, quick-fix diets that, as you probably know, rarely work. The word diet comes from the Latin word diaeta which means “way of life”.  A “diet” should not be a quick fix but a way of life. That’s why our nutrition plans are all based on the fact that God created our bodies and God created food, so eat what God created in its most natural state.
With that said, we focus on:
  • Eating unprocessed, organic (when possible), natural food
  • Changing thoughts and habits concerning food
  • Saving money by planning and intentionality
  • Not making food the enemy or the reward
At Faithful Workouts, we believe that today's busy lifestyle requires intentional effort for healthy eating. While there is no magic solution, there are clever ways to make healthy food choices easier and faster.
Through our comprehensive fitness plans, we strive to equip you with all of the tools you will need to make healthy eating a central part of your life. Sign up for our f3 or f4 plans and get special access to delicious recipes, helpful tips, fun cooking videos, weekly meal plans and much, much more!

Old Way: Flavored Potato Chips and Dip New Way: Plain Potato Chips (even better Vegetables) and Healthy Dip If you look at the list of ingredients on a bag of flavored potato chips, you’ll likely see that you’re getting a whole lot more than just some added “flavor.” Here’s the ingredient list on my potato chip bag “potatoes, oil, salt”. Here’s the ingredients for flavored BBQ chips:  “potatoes, vegetable oil (sunflower, corn and/or canola oil), bbq seasoning (sugar, dextrose, salt, malted barley flour, torula yeast, molasses, maltodextrin [made from corn], natural flavors [including natural smoke flavor], spices, paprika, corn starch, tomato powder, garlic powder, yeast extract, onion powder, and paprika extract).”   Who wants to be eating all of that?!? Keep it clean and stick with plain chips. ...
